timing chain probs I think...

WOW I HATE POSTING IN THIS FORUM! YET I ALWAYS FIND MYSELF HERE!

anywho, I need your guys' help

today while working, my car decided to be a $%#^&$*# and start making some really nasty noises.

It sounds like a bike chain beating against a tin can near the belt side of my 2200 powered 5 speed cavalier. The funny thing is, its only sometimes, not constant. It seems to happen when the car turns to the left.... I think something broke off in there and is bouncing around and causing havoc when the car moves laterally.

I just put the car back together maybe 2 months ago with a P&P, stainless steel valves and race springs... could this have caused premature wear on my timing chain/ gears? I'm still running stock rockers... which I think could have also lead to the timing chain goin poopoo early.

Any input /experience with this problem will be appreciated, the car is being put on the curb tonight until I can solve the problem... I don't need to bend valves and have to have the head redone AGAIN.

mine did the same thing it sounds like one of your timing chain guides is broke but when you replace it you better just go and replace the timing chain and everthing, it is one of the guides they are pretty fragile looking

Fast isn't always good, looks and sound is sometimes better
