all right when i accelerate theres a minor clicking noise its not loud and my dad thinks its a lifter in my motor he tryed to explain it to me he siad the lifter is by the cam shaft and pumps oil
what do you guys think is the problem?
how much is a lifter and what does it do?
its not bad i can live with it but my dad says i should get it fixed to be safe and prevent further damage

Need more info .. Fill out your registry .. each engine in the J's have different issues and different things that are just normal.

Hit 200 NA it broke once, Hit 213 it broke again,
Hitting 300 NA is further away than I thought.

First of all a lifter does not pump oil. It is what transfers the lift of the lobe of the cam to the pushrod in a 2.2L. The pushrod then pushes the rocker arm, which pushes down on the valve spring and valve, thus opening the valve in the cylinder.
The 2.2L is known for this tick issue and is considered normal.
