Problems with '00 engines!

Hey Guys!

Just a quick question for those of you who have a 2000 Cavalier Z24...

Has any of you had issues with these particular types of engines? I need to replace my engine only after 90,000Km and was wondering if anyone else here had any problems with it.

Thanks!

bearing at 84000 km i said the hell with it and only replaced the bearings and so far its going ok and thats after 110000 km so meh. i think the go cause people like me are to hard on them, i wasnt a stranger to letting it rev to 6000. but then again i also dont think that should make a difference in such a new car because the motors are tested and set at 6400 rpm for a reason, beyond that is when damage should occur not before. and i took care of the car pretty well, never missed an oil change

I blew mine up with a turbo at 44k kilometers, check the boost forum for the video (cavaler turbo video)

HP Tuners | Garrett T3/T04B | 2.5" Charge Pipes | 2.5" Downpipe | 650 Injectors | HO Manifold | Addco front/rear | Motor Mounts | HKS SSQV | Spec stage 3 | AEM UEGO Wideband | Team Green LSD | FMIC | 2.3 cams | 2.3 oil pump swap | 280WHP | Now ECOTECED

Maintenance issue? Maybe

Mine is a '98 2.200, with 65.000 km (42.000 miles), and I'm planning for the very first spark plug change at 100.000 km. Maybe, year to spark plug change is 2008.

Only one injector cleaning until today (at 10.000 km), 5 air filters and 1 gas filter. Oil filter is changed every 10.000 km, and oil is either, but SYNTHETIC.

3 engine rebuilds and 1 engine replacement. Spun bearings due to oil starvation I believe. Second problem Gm technicians. Replaced engine with a LKQ engine, no problems for 4k miles (in a month).
GM techs suck (btw they screwed up a tranny rebuild, and my p/s has leaked for 3 years. tensioner went bad and they left it that way. went bad at the dealership while they serviced engine*we thought it would go away*)

I have a 2000. It had a miss and after awnhile the check engine light blinked on once in awhile. Called the dealer and made an appointment. They said no problem driving it as long as it worked. $450 later they asked why I kept driving it I said you said it was ok. 4 new plugs, 4 wires 2 coil packs two distribution things or whats ever is behind the coils. They said I should have changed plugs at 50,000 miles. I said it is in the book no plugs/wires/or such maint. for 100,000 miles. They were like " don't believe what you read" .

2004 ecotec 5 speed. Injen intake, better plugs and wires. Just lowered it and added a wing.
