how on earth do you get the sprayer nozzles off the wiper arms of a 99 GT Sunfire convertable (i doubt 1/2 that info matters but it isnt my car its my g/f's). hers are clogged so i unplugged the rubber tubes but i could not see how the nozzles come off the arms? hers are clogged and i was going to take them off and clear them with an air compressor. if anyone can tell me how to do it without breaking anyhting i'd appreciate it. ~Ryan

Is it clogged or does it have frozen washer fluid in it?
Mine froze twice this winter and all I did was pulled the car in the garage and dumped a couple cups of hot water on it and it was working good. Hope this helps you some.

def. clogged. it was like 65* out (all day) when we tried to make em work. the fluid sprays from the tubes but not the plastic nozzles.

I would also like to know this (for future reference) because the only time mine have ever came off is when they just popped off on their own.

no one knows? you can tune these things to run low 13's but no one can tell me how to fix the washer nozzles?

I had this problem and there ws some kind of plastic bag parts clogging the nozzle!!!

My washers clog all the time during the winter months.
Mostly due to freezing rain, or flux in temps, which is the unfortunate norm here in Cleveland, the fluid does not freeze, but the water and the upcoming ice does as you go from heater to cold overnight, wake up in the AM, and, bam, iced over.
The reservior on J cars is no where near heat, as well as the washers being on the wiper arm itself, adds up to a prob, design flaw IMO.

The only fix I've come up with, is freeze your arse off, while you use your fingernail to pick ice away form the nozzles, while your car attempts to warm up.
Then, you can scrape the rest of the ice off, if you can get in the car in the first place, without tearing your doorhandle off.
Cleveland winters are a piece of work, for all those that do not know.
For those who do not, consider yourself lucky.

ok, i appreciate the info but they ARE NOT FROZEN. just clogged and need to be removed and cleaned or replaced. anyone know how to take them off?

Take a screw driver and try to pry them off. My 97 has a little lip on each side that wraps around the wiper arm. If they break, shell out the few bucks to get new ones. You can get them at any GM dealership. I need to buy a new one myself.

good luck getting them off without breaking them. Lilcav got it right. But.. Buy new ones and replace them.. cause by the time yoiu get them off..they will not clip back on...

I've gotten them off without breaking them, u need a meduim tipped flat head screwdriver. Look for a slot where u'd think a screwdriver would fit.

On the drivers arm there is this sort of long tab that looks longer then the nozzle itself. It's on the wiper arm facing up at you when u look at the nozzle as if standing and leaning over the driver side fender. Put the screwdriver there and pry lightly.

On the passenger arm it's a little more tricky! If you can picture this, the nozzle click into itself, with a tab. Take a look at the nozzle and u will notice that there is a piece that goes over top the wiper arm. That's the tab. You will see that it locks into itself. U have to try to pry that close to the locking tab.

It's a pain, those suckers are on there to stay....

Very easy to remove, but it depends on which 3 of the nozzles. The passenger side has one which you need to break off the top part with a flat head screwdriver. Once you do that it snaps right off. Same thing with the one on the drivers side. But the driver side has two nozzles. To remove the lower one, thake a fine flathead screwdriver and gently lift the tongue that is on the side of the nozzle while at the same time pulling it up. It will come right out very easy. Being gentle is all that it takes. Now for the installation. This is a little tricky. The easy one is the lower one on the driver side cose you just put the washer hose back on it and slide it back in place and presto, is done. the other two, install the hoses on them and snap them back on the arms. Get some JB weld and mix a tiny bit of it on a cardboard. put a tiny bit on the tops of the nozzles. TINY BIT... not a lot. Let the car sit overnight it will be like new. Preferably buy new ones thought, cose if you clean them sometimes they don't spray as good as when they were new. They cost about $12 bucks each.

Best thing I discovered, get a hair dryer use it to melt the ice inside the lines then, Go buy a deicer solution or deicer window wash fluid, It should correct that issue for you.
