Hello friends,
1997 Sunfire 2.2L cranks fine but will not start. Thankfully this happened at my home instead of on the road somewhere as has happened before.
While speaking to the dealer about my problems I brought up the fact that the SES light does not come on during the "check" period, and a Matco scantool will not connect to the car. He told me if the SES lamp is burned out the car will not run and may cause the scantool to not connect. Is this true?
Taking his advice I took the cluster out and I do not see a way to replace the SES bulb/led without destroying the instrument.
Anyways, this car is on it's third timing chain and cylinder head and honestly I suspect the timing chain failed again.
