LD9 Oil leaks and blow by
Sunday, April 22, 2012 5:51 PM
Hey, I just did an oil change on my 2000 Z24 today and noticed a bit of a leak at the rear/drivers side head area, it was kinda a mess so not really sure where it is coming from, the oil pressure sensor was wet but doesnt look like its leaking from there, I cleaned it up, its tight, just looks like it got wet from something else leaking. Not sure if its the cam cover or somewhere else on that part of the head to look at? Also, there is quite a bit of blow by on the oil filler cap, not sure what is normal, but almost feels like putting your hand on the tail pipe. Not sure if rings are gone or something wrong with PCV system. There was lots of oil in the intake tube aswell and the PVC hose going to the intake was kinda of loose so not sure if that is part of my leak too, I did put a hose clamp on it. I have 187000km on it (probably 100000miles or so?) Theres not really much of an oil leak in my parking stall, there is some stains from a $200 neon but doesnt look like anything fresh. I do go through about 1L of oil every 3-4000km though, any advice on common leak spots or info about blow by would be helpful.
