i dirt track race the car and was wondering what weight people think should be run ive been running mobil 1 5w20 be a local shop told me to

5w30 is recommended weight. says right on the oil cap.

0w-30 up to 15w-50

Don't go less than 30 on your warmed up weight... 20 is way too low.

5w30 or 10w30.
DO NOT USE 15w50 per GM.

I used it exclusively (except for wintertime) for a couple years now..

I think the first number is the one, you DONT want it to be 20 or above that.
I use Penzoil 10W-40, but I might start using the 10W-30, I don't race mine tho.
If you run on the track I have no idea what to use.

The thermometer in that picture doesn't show 200 degrees, and rarely does it get to zero F here, so for now 10w30 or 10W40 should
be ok on mine, I hope. I have been thinking I should use 10W30 or 5w30, but the motor has over 100,000 miles on it. The gauge says
over 260,000 miles so I don't know is 5w30 supposed to be better on engines with double and triple high mileage?
