I want to say the recommend around 100k miles, but im probably wrong. All chains stretch over time though so you may as well replace it, theyre relatively cheap.

yes i just posted a new thread as a warning my car has 110,000 miles or so on it and the tensioner on my 03 sunfire went bad i got a new timing chain kit put in before the chain broke luckily and did no damage to the engine, i would recommend it highly, its not exactly easy but wort it none the less. the timing chain kit is around $150 from orilleys its the cloyes kit, it has a revised chain oil nozzle which provides more oil to the timing chain and a revised tensioner which should last longer, i know in my case it was the tensioner that failed, it was stuck closed providing no tension on the chain
