Hi, I have a 98 Cavalier with the 2.2 manual. I bought this car for oval racing and have yet to take it to the track. Am in 2 weeks so I need to get it right soon. As far as I can tell since I can not drive it on the street is its just a idle issue. It could be more tho....
The car starts right up idles a little high but not anything crazy then just randomly it will idle at about 4,000 RPM and just stay there. I immediately turn it off because it is crazy loud (Car is straight piped). Any ideas?
I put a new valve cover gasket, MAP sensor, O2 sensor, Coil, Wires, and Plugs....
IAC Sensor
TPS Semsor
EGR Valve
ECU
Vacuum leak
?????

Check for vacuum leaks, if you don't find any, then I'd say TPS or IAC
