HELP BLOWN 2.4L

So i recently through a rod in my LD9 (1999 z24 cavi) This is my second engine in the car and it didnt seem right when i got it but it lasted a couple years so i was happy but now im between whether or not to scrap the car and buy a truck or spend way to much money trying to find a new ld9. i would love to keep the cavi but the last engine ran me upwards of $2500 to buy and have installed. The way im looking at it i could get a decent used vehicle for that price. if anyone has any idea's, a truck for sale or trade, or an LD9 for sale at an affordable rate. please let me know. im located in Canada Ontario in the east GTA (Durham Region) if anyone around there knows of any cheap engines or of anyone who would be able to install it fairly cheap. thanks guys any help is kick ass. really dont want to have to drop my cavy

It is fairly easy to change the motor providing you have the correct equipment on hand. I also heard a while back that GM was selling re-man's for less than $1,000. Might still be able to jump on that.

I replaced the motor in my old '00 Z for less than $800 total.

If you have all the right tools and time to do it, its simple to do. My old z24 i found on craigslist a guy selling a z24 with a blown transmission, just so happened that my transmission was good, bought the car 300 dollars swaped, kept some parts off it, junked it for 140 dollars...so in all i probably paid 160 for the motor

If you lived closer to Chicago, I would offer you scrap price for the car, since I want to do a 5 speed swap to my car Check out carparts.com they have decent prices on used motors. Just gotta watch out for the miles.

I don't see why engines are so hard to find in canada, it seems like they have way more "junk" cars. I'm always told that Canadians dont like to keep cars over 10 years or so. Anyways. I have about 10 LD9's to pick from at the local junk yard Idk why there are so many... one is in a red z24 vert... i wish it wasn't torn to pieces
