vibration when i let my clutch out/ starting off
Friday, November 19, 2010 7:08 PM
ok just so everyone know i did search before i posted could find a match to my problem.
ok hopped in my 1998 z24 5 speed tonight, drove to the store, everything good, got home everything still good, later got back in the car and left home, as soon as i let my clutch out and it started grabbing, i feel a vibration almost a shutter, just for a second, and some clunking that i heard more then once figured that its probably strut mounts of maybe the dog bone mount or trans mount. but it seems that this shutter is only from a stop and maybe 650 rpm till like 800rpm (only a guess). no noises while turning hard, either way unless coming from the stop. now if i raise my rpms a bit more then usual it dosent seem to do the shutter as much or at all. also this may be linked to the same problem but it seems now that clunking that i knew was there is more frequent, especially on bumps, which it did before but not this bad. The only thing that had really changed was the temperature here, it got really cold over a about 2 hours maybe this has something to do with it because that is the only thing that changed while the car sat for about 30-60 mins, any good opinions would be greatly appreciated, i will have to check it over tomorrow at work, just want some opinions or things to look at that i might not think of, right now i am thinking, strut mounts?, Axles?, mounts?, or something more.....

here is one more issue that happened today, dont think its related but here it is, first my cruise stopped working, found out it was the plug came off the brake sensor, plug it back it and it worked but for some reason only in fourth not fifth and now not at all, when i hopped back in it tonight i hit my brake, the car shut off and when i started it again all my warning lights were on while running the lights kept flicking on and off and i could hear a sound like a flasher flicking on and off when i let my foot off the gas and then back on again, the whole way home it did this when i stopped at a light some of the warning lights turned off, then when i started going again they turned back on, WTF could be going on

There is a cluster of grounds bolted to the "frame" below the battery tray, these are known for needing some attention.

you were right with the ground issue, there neg cable comes from the battery and passes by the bat box, there it bolts onto the battery box. well thats part of the battery box is broken right off, vise griped it back on for now and everything works dandy. i will have to put a new bat box in along with a small piece on the back frame, where they all like to go at. and thats all my rust issues
