Sunfire 2.4

Hello everyone
I have a bad ac compressor pulley and drive belt tensioner, the tensioner could live longer but the ac pulley is causing problems big time. (read below)
I need to delete the ac and get a pulley or just a shortened belt.. Is there a proper belt w/o ac for the 2.4L? (ive read lots of different things)
advance autoparts 345K5 belt---2.4L (ive searched the site)

ALSO!! How the heck do you get the tensioner off the 2.4L???.. all i notice is the 15mmbolt on the front of the pulley of the tensioner to relieve the pressure on the belt
I have the service manual (Haynes) -- cant find it yet..

ok here's the story, i was driving on 401 Westbound highway yesterday, it was raining really hard before i got on the highway, but it let up a little when i got on. Ten minutes into the trip the car starts making this really loud high pitched whistle/squeal (not a whistle but sounded like that.) it wasn't quite a drive belt squeal but very similar, turns out is was a pulley squealing
IT ONLY made the noise at highway speed! 100km/h-110km/h, and would go away below 100, only made the noise when you were accelerating at 100-110km/h (even a little right at that speed) at first it was constant SQEUEELLLL.... then it was off and on, back and forth.. i was able to take highway 2 back home which is 80kn/h or slower so it was ok.. before this incident, sometimes when the car is idling you can hear a faint pulley squeel, it comes and goes and it not loud at all, i deciced to just leave it until it got "loud" one day lol turns out last night was that one day..(again its very faint) I end up driving it to Cornwall last night (500km round trip with errands etc) and back today even though it was a huge risk of possibly being stranded... thats another story.

Yup, normal problem with the J's. The ac compressor clutch pulley. The tenioner you will need to remove, obviously when the belt is off, there is the bolt on the actual pulley wheel itself, and there is one on the body of the pulley kinda hidden by the belt. once the belt is off u can get the tensioner off easily. Just crack the bolt loose and bingo, comes off. The compressor can be removed with either 4 or 5 bolts but you will have to drain the ac freon. But since your going to delete the ac anyways, this wont be a issue. Also, you can get a smaller belt, but there is no direct belt avalible at a parts store, so a few trips maybe needed to get the right one. Goodluck!
