just put a new motor in car 97 2.4 problem is it is idling really bad checked all the vacum lines they are all okay. the check engine light did come on the codes it throw where high idle what else should i check
If you got check engine codes I would recommend, get the codes checked start with that first.

it was a junkyard engine but i all the gaskets are new
Try IAC relearn. Check all harness connecters. Probably a vac leak.

we have chacked all that still doing it, a mechanic friend of mine thinks my timing might be off a little could this be possible
where is your friend a mechanic? remind me not to go there.

Is it only at idle or have u taken it for a test drive. if its only at idle i would think vacum as well. some times u dont even hear the vacum leak, witch makes is a b*** to find.
plugs, coils, black boot things between the coils and plugs.
took it for a test drive the other night everything is fine execpt at idle when idling my RPM's go up and down from about 1000 to 2000 once it goes above 2000 its fine
