I am wondering what the level should be, how can i tell how much fluid should be in my 2000 sunfire 2.2L engine power steering box?
also is it ok too use esso power wheel steering fluid, when i got my oil and stuff done they gave me a free* esso one, hope i can get some answers soon.

Has it ever been changed? I would replace it. It's really easy. Shut the car off, remove the power steering cap/dipstick, and use a turkey baster to empty the resovoir. Refill with Power Steering fluid, put cap back in. Start the car, and move the wheels from stop to stop about 6 times. Turn off, repeat until you have all the new fluid in. After this my steering was really light, I added a botle of Lucas Power Steering stop leak. Normally you couldn't get me to touch Lucas products with a 100 foot pole, but I'd heard good things, and the steering weight is perfect now.
