I have a 2000 pontiac sunfire that i recently had to drain the cooking system on. My question is, how the hell does that drain petcock work, how are you supposed to get it out, and what happens if you strip it out? Any help would be appreciated, i really dont want to have to replace the radiator.
they are some hard ass bishes to get out!
just drop the lower rad hose, and get as much out as u can! fawk the petcock!

The petcock just twist out, if you break it, you buy a new radiator

First time I drained my rad on my 01 cavalier I was looking to use the draincock. I couldn't get move. I just undid the lower rad hose. I didn't want to snap off that drain plug. Got to like that cost cutting plastic crap lol.
1/4" square drive socket, male end.. It does not come out of the radiator.
i never use em, just remove the hose, you will get all or most out.

I'm going to replace the lower rad hose and your right that petcock is a.... The hose clamp pliers are 35 buck's and the lower hose is 35 also. I replaced the upper hose with out those plies i will never do it again. 99 cavalier.
for the eco's...it may look like a 1/4" square drive but its not. In past the square plastic is a hex drive. Pull out as you turn it off making sure the pin follows the slotted groove. Remove the water pump drain also to get all the coolant out of the block.
