First off id like to say what a great site this is and there are lots of very helpful people. I have kind of an interesting situation for you guys. Im pretty mechanically inclined and to make a long story short, i did the head gasket on my car and i noticed when i put the lower fuel line back into the regualtor there was kind of a cut in the oring so for lack of finding a oring i installed it with the cut facing up. A year later and it just started leaking. Now heres the interesting part, it will only leak sometimes, i can smell fuel sometimes and ill pop the hood and it will be wet, the next trip ill get home and it will be dry. Well this morning i drove five minutes into school and i could smell fuel, poped the hood and sure enough the whole regulator was wet instead of just the bottom like usual. Well i parked it and after an hour class i drove home, and no fuel smell. Poped the hood and its dry. I did notice that the bolt that holds the line clamp on ( on the back of the block) was not there so i need to know what size and thread pitch it is to pick up another. I left the car runnin and wiggled the line and no leak. I want to just purchase a new regualtor and put that on, but i would also like that bolt for the line clamp, i need somebody to let me know what size and pitch that bolt is so i can pick up another. Also since im up at school and have no tools i was wondering if somebody could tell me the torx size and wrenches and sockets i will need to do the job.
Vehicle is 96 chevy cavalier with the 2.2
Thanks again

i just had that problem when i changed my fuel regulator it was the o ring on mine i ended up going to dealer to get new o ring it cost $3.33 and it fixed my problem.
as for torx size the one is 30 n the other i forgot i will tell u later though when i go out to garage.
Ok update. Dealership didnt have the oring and the car was leaking bad so i just went to the parts store and picked up a new regulator that had the oring in it. I installed the new regulator and orings and no leak.
Cost me 50 bucks but whatever. I did notice that the bolt i was wondering about is actually a nut that goes on a stud on the back of the motor. Any suggestions on what it is? Oh yea and chaingin out the reuglator was a breeze, took me about 10 minuets, just be careful when pulling the reg off, the rail is pressurized and mine didnt have a scheader valve to realease pressure, so a rag was drapped over as i slowly let it bleed off.
Thanks
Cody
