I am assuming you don't mean "solid", as they would have ZERO movement, and EXTREME vibration, and would make daily driving pretty much impossible. Are you just looking for something with more durability?

Check out this site TTR Motor Mounts I would stay clear of the RK sport, though not bad, there is better.

To start,

1] There is nothing wrong with RK Sport mounts.

2] A solid mount will NOT make it undriveable, but will vibrate more.

3] A solid mount will not give you more power, just better torque transfer.

Anyway, I have run the RK mounts (previously and currently) and have had no problems with any. The RK upper insert and lower dogbone will do you just fine.

I'm sure 1000000000000000 other members on here have the same setup with no problems.

alright so whats the difference between the Turbo Tech Racing Motor Mount to the Rk Sport Motor Mount??
Re: solid motor mounts

1. Never said any thing was "wrong" with RK Sport, just that there are better mounts

2. Sorry, i should have said unbearable, not impossible

how about most reliable??
Re: solid motor mounts

More people have had problems with TTR's mounts than RK Sport and now with LZM's rep going down hill it is looking like RK Sport's mounts are the best option out there. I have been running RK's upper and lower eco mounts for 2 years and havent had any problems. Before Jack starts crying about vibs, i am also running TTR's solid poly tranny inserts for a 5-speed and the vibs are not bad at all.

Only one person has a true solid engine mount, but the car is a few months away from being finished(PJ). So how does Jack know the vibs will be unbearable?

^^Thank you.

I figured it was useless to talk some sense into him since he knows waaaaaayyy more about J's than any of us.

TTR sells a package deal on the RK mounts IIRC, That is your best bet.

lol alright thanks... the upper mouter mount went about a couple days ago but if i replace that im think on replaceing all the rest of the mounts just for the surrport ... and there are 3 mounts i believe is that right? the upper lower dog bone and the trans mount?

There's a guy in town that made completly solid mounts for his cav. Haven't rode in it yet so I couldn't tell ha how bad it vibrates. Maybe he will chime in.

Depends on your tranny.

If you have a 5-speed like me then there are 4. Upper engine, lower engine, front tranny, rear tranny.

If you have an auto then there are 3. Upper engine, lower engine, tranny.

Also, With the vibes, Just wedge a little piece of foam or w/e between the dash and windshield.

The vibes aren't bad at all. It is the dash rattling that gets annoying. And even that isn't bad.

3200 huh....

Re: solid motor mounts

Why a 3200? The Ecotec you have is a damn fine engine. Alittle boost and you will have a nice DD. If you take your time you can find a Saab turbo setup for cheap.

Saab kit + Eco = Win.

Re: solid motor mounts

lol sounds like a plan.... would there be any way i could but a supercharger with a turbo on the eco? or that would be a custom job that would involed big $$

Search "twincharging". The topic has been beat to death. Is it possible? Yes. Is it worth it? No. You can get the same results with the right turbo.

well i just figure if anything just go str8 with a supercharger instead of a turbo for the constint power but i dont believe it ofters the same amount as a turbo.. thats y i was wouldnt if i could combind them it would give me the low RPMs i need and the high as well

RK Sport motor mount is your best bet.
as far as the vibes being bad.... my car has the LZM upper, TTR Billet Aluminum lower, and no balance shafts and it vibrates enough, but its completely bearable and safe.

just dont be a pu$$y

just to repost in favor of bashing me...

Now, I seem to be confused...don't all cars use motor mounts? seems to me that more than just cavaliers use them...perhaps some of those cars have had solid mounts...I don't know...

Thanks for being mature, Jackass.

Now, back to the OP.

I was referring to "solid" mounts, which by literal translation would state ZERO movement...thus SOLID.

Now, a polyurethane mount (or insert) is something different, and this is what I was referencing.

Also, personal preference has a lot to play in this "aftermarket game" we all like to play. There may not be any actual difference between products (besides design), but as with any forum, people will bash you for not agreeing with them, or just plain say you're wrong.

RK's is not a SOLID MOUNT. it has 2 poly bushings in it... you want to see a solid mount?

hope you dont mind pj...

this is LITERALLY a solid mount. and his trans mounts, he took the poly bushing out and cut a metal slug to fit instead, again SOLID.

rk, ttr, lzm, are not solid mounts. they are stiffer than stock but not solid. if you cant handle it then stay stock. there is no better than the rk, its stable, stiff, and works well. only issues with VERY few of them. i cant wait to get my hands on one once i get the rest done.

Nice, What are you 14? You went with the "I know you are but what am I" comeback...Really...

If your describing what I stated...then why did you find it necessary to claim that I would have no Idea what I am talking about. If you (could) read my original post, I was trying to correctly understand the OP, and make sure he wasn't looking for a LITERAL solid mount.

Shut up.

Yes, all cars use motor mounts. But he is asking about mounts for a CAVALIER. NOT ALL CARS.

If you have no experience with one, let alone any, then stfu. Don't bash @!#$ based on what you might have read.
