Mystery coolant piping

Car is a 1994 Pontiac Sunbird, 3.1 L V6 I think.

There is an elbow on the passenger side firewall, below the heater core lines, that is open and coolant comes out of. This is a recent problem. My dad was driving the car and heard a gurgling and then coolant poured out. Where is this elbow supposed to be connected to? I'm told its about a 1/4 inch diameter. I apologize if this isn't thorough, I can't actually get to the car as I'm in another state. Thank you in advance!

The picture is taken from the passenger side front, from underneath the car. It is the black hole in the right side background (tough to get a pic of).

Supposedly both heater core lines are hooked up. I am assuming there are only 2 heater core lines. This is very close to where what I think are the heater core lines are though.

Ok so it is the heater core. I didn't know these cores had a drain line or condensation line. Thanks Jason!
