Hey guys, i need to know if i can take (motor only) A 2.4L out of a 2001 Pontiac Grand am. And do a direct swap into a 2000 Chevy Cavalier without any problems? If it's possible let me know, and if there are any problems (mechanical or electrical) please let me know. Thanks
Im pretty sure that if the motors are the same its just the fact of swaping one to the other no prob..
but take a look in some other areaas in the forum there should be a few
From what the guy has told me, The motor in his Cavalier is the 2.4L, and the motor that is out of the Grand am is also a 2.4L, and they are only one year apart, so i wouldn't think that GM made any minor nor drastic changes to the motor from 200-2001. but i didn't know if maybe i needed to put the PCM from the grand am in the Cavalier Along with the motor, or if the PCM from the cavalier would suffice.
I dont see why it wouldnt work. Just use the cavalier wiring harness and PCM.

They are the same. No worries.
Yes same, I did the same thing. There are some mounts bolted to the engine that bolt to the motor mounts on the car that you'll have to swap from the Cav engine to the Grand Am engine.
