Exhaust problem (again)

Hey all I currently have a pacesetter 4-1 header, magnaflow highflow cat, 2.25 exhaust, 4" round 18" long magnaflow resonator, and dual oval magnaflow mufflers.

Since last spring when I put the exhaust on I've had no problems UNTIL this winter when my resonator (normal small one) started making a rattling sound. I then replaced it with a 4" round, 18" long magnaflow. Soon after (not sure exactly when) my exhaust started to make a high pitched ping/tink sound (hard to describe in writing) It would only happen on a blue moon, but started to get worse. Now it's a few times per minute. Can't hear it when driving only when at idle or when starting to move. Especially loud in drive thru's

It's been about 2 months now that i've lived with it and it's not bad in the winter, but come summer I won't be able to stand it. It's ahrd for me to tell wether it's coming from the resonator or if it's the cat...A few friends told me it's because i'm running to rich and that some fuel is getting into the cat, every once in awile it explodes and makes a little ping/tink sound. I always thought it was the older vs newer (big res) metal heating up at different rates and moving. Or could it be that the new resonator is distrupting the flow and there's too much backpressure?

I'm pretty clueless any help and advice is appreciated. Thanks.

sounds more like a heat shield somewhere rattling on something, or the pipes not being hung properly.

The rattling went away when I put on the new magnaflow reonator. It's the ping/tink sound that's troubling me now.
