Okay,I hope some one can help me out with this one. I have a 02 2.2 cavy with a turbo on it. I had my check engine light come on recently and i threw a code for catalyst system low
efficiency and engine misfire detected. I did not have enough time or money to replace my cat before my registration expired, so I used my HPTuners and went in to the editor and
turned off these two codes so they won't throw a light. I drove the car for a couple days to hopefully reset all the sensors and what not. Well, right before I went to get it tested today,
I opened up my scanner in HPTuners and checked for any codes even though i wasn't throwing a light. I did not click on the red x to clear the codes or any thing, but my question is
even without actually clearing the codes, when I open the scanner, and close it, my gauges and lights all come on so I know its doing something. Could I have reset the sensors
again just by opening and closing the scanner, or do I possibly have something else wrong.
sorry I know this is a lot, but thanks for any help.
depends on your code puller. Some have options to open, read, clear. Other just let you read and choose to clear or not. Read your directions and see what yours does. You should really fix the problem that throws the codes and then you'll be fine.

You can check in HP tuners if the readiness' are set.
