blue devil?

Well, I found some "guaranteed" head gasket sealer today for 60 bucks from advance. Well, after using it per instructions, it has actually seemed to of made my head gasket worse! I an trying to get my money back from them now, but we will see how that goes... But why would it make my head gasket worse? Or is it even my head gasket? My symptoms are: loosing coolant, and I have a sputter in my exhaust followed by a white looking smoke with a sweet smell... Is this indeed my head gasket? And if not, am I burning oil? It doesnt appear to me that I am loosing oil, but i will keep a check on it.

Guaranteed means precisely zilch.

Dude, you gotta properly prepare your surfaces, apply a hefty bead, and if you're damned lucky it'll turn out okay.

Far as I can recall, most manufacturers are providing actual gaskets for that stuff - why the hell are you using that @!#$?

Yeah, you're burning coolant. Get a manual for your car - from a library, or Amazon - and see what's actually suggested.

This ain't no simple block-'o-metal you're dealing with like old V8's.

I have one question, Was the cyl pressure test inspected for cracks around the exhaust intake valves, Alum heads are common for that, If the cyl hh has been over heated temps previsely. the hd gasket jobs I never had to use a sealer, Other only reason for the cyl to leak is its not bonded properly with the cyl hd & block. Basically I am assuming u got to tear it apart redo it.

Good Luck.

DARN IT! That is what I was trying to avoid... Now, after further inspection, my weep hole on my water pump is leaking! I just changed the darn thing like 2000 miles ago! This is my ongoing saga! When I saw the water pump leaking today, I almost cryed! Haha! I am going to sell the car, and maybe get a svt or srt-4 or an SS... Something newer with fewer miles and more HP stock, and not so darn hard to work on! I am going to list the cav in the local classified's and try to get a G out of it. It has quite a few mods, so I dont think that will be hard to get. And as far as the blue devil, it went into the cooling system, and was guarnateed to work, or money back, I am pretty confident that they will return my money, but we will see. The crazy thing is, I NEVER had an issue with any of my cooling system until I had a shop flush it for me, then everything went to hell and back.

Its an additive, not a sealer for use on a new gasket. Time to replace the HG and hope like hell you didnt damage anything with the junk you poured in.
