Well I got the nut side off no problem.
But when I went to get the quick release off.. the plastic piece that you squeeze to open it is gone.

What do I do?

cut the darn hose and water clamp the new fliter on! Works wonders past the quick release(actually quicker to turn a screw driver) and yes, do some searching...

the factory line doesn't have the part you sqeeze. You have to go to a auto parts store and get a fuel line disconnect tool for gm and slide it in to unlock the clips in the factory hard line.

The OEM filter has a metal clip. I bent the crap out of it when I replaced mine but the replacement filters have the plastic clip, which works much better. It's frustrating, but doable. Just don't be retarded and start cutting lines.
