I just bought an '01 Cavalier Z24 coupe with automatic trans. The previous owner or his mechanic has removed some parts and chose not to reinstall them. It looks like there are a couple of covers missing on the lower transmission/engine mating point. Flex Plate Cover is the term I would use to describe one part. The other cover is just below the starter, it's probably a 90 degree, or right angle piece. My local Chevy Dealer says the Flex Plate Cover is a discontinued item. I have no idea what the other smaller cover is or what it's purpose is.
Can anyone give advice on where to find this flex plate cover if it has been discontinued by GM? Junkyard? Anybody have a picture of this part, and or a part number? Also, what is the name and purpose of the other smaller cover underneath the starter? Is it just a little inspection cover? Thanks
local junk yard of course
