Car is an '04 Cavalier, Ecotec w/ 78k miles. Went outside to start it today, cranked for about 5 seconds, sputtered, didn't start. Tried again, cranked for a little longer, fired up, and missing like CRAZY, with CEL flashing. I put Bosch Platinum 2s in it not too long ago, and I took off the coil pack (or whatever that whole piece is called), and took off the boots one at a time, and started the car, it seems to only be running on cylinders 1 and 4. Did my coil pack go bad? Or bigger problem? I'm also having the same problem with a 95 Grand Am 2.3L... EXACTLY the same... I searched and couldn't find much, any help greatly appreciated.
go back to AC delco plugs. !!
Go back to Ac delco plugs. Those bosh are crap

In general GM engines hate Bosch spark plugs. I have seen maybe 5% of GM engines with Bosch plugs run correctly. AC Delco (NGK) is best option.
yup iv triend bosch in my 2.2 ohv on my 03 ecotec and wouldnt even dare on my ld9. on my 2.2ohv the ceramic part of the plug broke off. luckily it stayed within the spark plug tips. .. switched back to the ac delcos and car runs like new... got my vert took out the bosch platinums the previous owner had in it with delcos, to find out the gapping on the platinums were beyond specs...
long story short ... go back to ac delcos ... 5bucks a pop but worth it ..
Well the plugs aren't bad... that's the thing... i've been driving for car for at least 2 months with those plugs, I bought a coil pack today, and its built wrong so who knows...
Folks, I've been running Bosch +4 in my 98 Z for 8 years and have never had a problem with them.
Bradly, it could be you coil pack. See if you can get the right one for your car.

RIP Specks
Advance, AutoZone, and the like do not make the coil pack right for the Ecotec, we looked it up for every year and car that the 2.2 Eco is in, and the plug for the ignition module is the same on the coil pack, and the module, so they will not work. I don't know if this is true nationwide, but all the ones around here are wrong, so its either the junk yard, or Chevy dealership... which sucks...
Replaced the coils on the 95 Grand Am, and it didn't fix it, so possibly wouldn't fix my car either, thinking Ignition Module next?
Oh and did I mention the cooling fan kicks on, on both cars, as soon as you start them... and keeps running

That is what I had go wrong in a 2.2 ECO Grand Am. Bought a new coil pack, swapped it around, no luck. Had to buy a new ignition module.
I do agree with a lot of others regarding the Bosch plugs. I put Bosch plugs in my '99Z and within 3k miles, I had a CEL (mis-fire) and some stank coming from the exhaust. Put Delcos back in and it was happy again.
Go with the AC Delco Plugs..
Replaced the Ignition Module, problem solved... NOTHING WRONG WITH THE PLUGS. I do appreciate opinions, but until I have reason to go back, I'll stick with the Bosch, always used them in every car I've had and never gave me any problems...
LOL@everyone saying plugs. Jesus Christ.

Glad to hear you got it running right again. As for the plugs...as long as it works for you then that is all that matters.
