hey guys i just got done puttin my new ld9 in my cav and less than a week later i spin another rod bearing. This absolutely sucks so i want to just rebuild the motor. I want to do the bearings, head gasket, timing, and im sure im missing something. But my problem is I cannot find the kit anywhere to do this. Some kits say that they are for a 96-99 but i know that they changed the internals in the motors from 00-02 so does anybody have any input that can help me.

I'm going to assume that you have a newer style ld9 because you didn't really say which one you had. Some one correct me if i am wrong but i think the difference between the two motors is the pistons. the 00+ motors get a flat top piston and have a bit more compression. Check out www.importperformanceparts.net/ and look for engine kits under cavalier or j-body. look at the # 7 kit. I think that has a lot of the parts you are looking for. I don't have any first hand experience with the kit but its worth checking out.
