my friend has a 98 cavalier with 150k on it. it just started doing this spiting thing on the highway. she will do about 70 and the car will sound like its about to die the temp guage will go back and fourth from hot to cold. any ideas whats makeing it do this? she said 65 it dont do it or 80. only at 70.
Sounds to me u got an head gasket issue starting to premature fail. I would get a compression test done, To see whats happening.
