Replaced blower motor resistor, now blowing fuses?

Alright guys. A while back I started losing my fan speeds, starting with 1 and working its way through all 4. A few months ago I finally lost my highest speed and the fan wouldn't blow at all. So after a little searching I stumbled across this forum and found the Blower Motor Resistor sticky. I replaced said resistor per the sticky, got everything put back together, but still now blower!

Checked the fuse panel and sure enough the blower motor fuse is popped. So I swapped it out for a fresh fuse only to pop that one as well.

I'll check to see if everything got put back together as it should, but all the electrical connections were snapped solidly in place. Is there any common places for shorts to occur with the whole blower resistor problem? I didn't know if anyone could point me in the right direction to start looking. I was so looking forward to having my fan back, such a bummer!

Thanks in advance,
Andrew

Start tracing wires. Thats all i can tell you. Check to see if any wires got pinched when you swapped resistors.

Okay, after tracing some wires and not really getting anywhere, I got to thinking. What would you all say the chances are that my blower motor is shot? If it was, it could potentially be the reason my fuses keep blowing...right?! I'm thinking about taking it down and trying to test it to see if it works or not. Any ideas/suggestions?
