i read that you cant hook up a refrigerant can(like what you would get from autozone) straight up to the manifold gauge. is this true? is there some type of an adapter i can use? or where can i get the refrigerant from that hooks up to the gauge?
also what is all involved in rebuilding an ac compressor?
thanks,
nick
you cant rebuild a compressor yourself, you need special tools to do that, you ever seen the inside of one of those, some of them have over 100 parts inside
If you dont know how to recharge your system, dont mess with it, you could get hurt badly, take it to a shop

I just recharged my system, I bought a can at wal-mart and it had a hose and guage on the top of the can. It had the refridgarant, anti leak and oil in the can. And all you do is take the low cap off of you ac system pop on the end of the hose (will have a kind of snap setup) and let it read before you add any to your system. (BTW make sure that you car is running) Then just add until you get I'd say mid ways in the green. If you system dosn't currently turn on, you will acctually hear it kick on when the levels start to get in the normal operating ranges.
Step 1: Turn Car on
Step 2: Turn on AC system full blast
Step 3: Hook guage up to low port (will be the one with the blue cap)
Step 4: If its low add until its in normal range on the guage
Step 5: Disconnect hose from the low port
Step 6: Put cap back on the low port
Step 7: Grab a nice cold beer
Step8: Get in you car and cool your @$$ off cause its too Dang hot to be doing this
