It's a 2001 Sunfire with a 2.2L engine. I think it got struck by lightning or something because when you unlock the car both headlights flash and when you start it the left turn signal goes on for about four clicks and the right headlight dies. I have tried changing fuses and it's not the lamp because it obviously flashes... I don't want to have to take it into the dealership because I don't have much cash to throw into it. Is there anything I should try?

Sounds like you've got a short somewhere. Get a multimeter and have fun, or else take it to a shop that specializes in car wiring.

it can still be the bulb being burnt out... why ? because the bulbs the fires use are double filiments. one fililment may be burnt out dboule check the bulb again

Start simple....bulb, check wiring at bulb while your there, then work back....

Cavs and sunfires are known for wires rotting off down behind the driverside of the bumper
