i have a 2001 cavalier that idles high and every so often the trac off light will come on and the car will jerk when it shifts through gears and when i put it into drive. It has started doing it more now and really need to get it fixed if anybody has any tips on the problem plz help
Is the check engine light on too? I'd look around under te hood for loose/pinched/broken wires. it sounds like something is making the ECU go into "limp mode"
my girlfriend had the same problem on her 2001 pontiac sunfire trac light on and check engine light on and shifted hard around 3k. looked into it and figured out the problem it was the tps sensor so went to the dealership purchased it for 65 bucks and has never done it since then its been about a month now and it drives great. hope this helps.
