Inastalling power locks and windows?
Friday, May 16, 2008 7:17 AM
Hi, this is my first post here.

I'm looking into replacing my manual locks and windows with power ones on my 2002 Cavalier. I just want to know:

1) What parts would I need?

2) Is the wiring already in place for the most part?

3) Is it a good idea to get new door panels, or will I need them?

I've read from a few people who've had the windows break down on them, but I'm not too worried about them breaking. If I can install it, I can repair it. I've also got a pick and pull 5 minutes from my house

Thanks in advance for any help or info.

Yes, I realize I spelled "installing" as "inastalling." Whoops.

No wiring but only 3 wires each side for the mirrors. About 6 or 8 wires each side for the windows. I used a plug to fill the crank hole but I have been trying to find panels with no luck. Of course if you want to go OEM looking you will need the switches and bazels. And then of course the window, track, motor for the windows and new mirrors. Prolly best to have a Chiltons, Haynes, or shop manual for the wiring questions.

That seems like more trouble than I mind to go through to change something that already works. Thanks for your time.
