02 Sensor readings

Hey all

We just picked up an Actron scan tool to try and see why Stargrrrl is getting crappy gas mileage. First thing I noticed is that the IAT sensor was running about 10 degrees warmer than the ambient temp outside. The hood was open and the sun was not out. Don't think that would mess things up to bad, but I took it out and sprayed it with TB cleaner just to make sure nothing was gunking it up. 2nd thing I noticed is that the Bank1 Sensor 1 o2 sensor's voltage readings would go up and down with a pretty big gap in between. At times it would fluctuate from .900 down to .200. Bank2 Sensor2 did not show the same kind of jump. It stayed in the same general range and did not bounce around. Something is definetly not right with it. I can hear the exhaust "puttering" as it idles. I'm pretty sure it's running rich due to the poor gas mileage. So are readings normal like that for the first 02 sensor? I'm going to put new plugs in it, and check out everything under the IDI cover tommorow. I've also got some of Greg's spring upgrades to install. Going to do a fuel filter (can't wait for that) and that's about it. Thoughts????

sounds about correct....

warmer underhood temps would lean it out...colder would richen it.

sensor 1 should switch like that.

sensor 2 shouldn't ...it is after the cat, it wants to see that the cat is still working.

try something like checking tire pressure while you are there....
