the only shop close to me leaving me no choice just called to let me know that my check engine light shows that a rear speed sensor needs replaced and that the sensor itself can not be replaced and that the whole hub must be replaced. in total, for scanning my car for codes, replacing my fuel filter, and buying and installing this new hub/speed senor , its costing me $550. am i wrong to think this is insane? how much labor time could possibly be involved for this......
I just looked at my bill from when I had it done on my truck under warranty. It was over a $400 part for my Sierra at the time, so it may not be that insane.

You can do it yourself for a whole lot less, and its really not that difficult.

ok just got car back, came to $465, there estimate on the phone was higher on parts then actual price. guess i'll accept this without to much anger. thanks for quick responses
