2002 ecotec 2.2
I just changed my oil about 8 hours ago my car ran fine before that it ran fine for a good 3-4 hours after and then i got into it started it up and i had a check engine and very rough idle i happened to be right at advanced auto so i got the scanner and scanned it, im getting a misfire on 3 so i bought a new ngk tr6 plug put it in still getting check engine i took it home switched the plugs around still throwing codes.. it idles rough thats about it it runs fine when driving only at idle it is rough, any ideas could it be the icm or?
Make sure your plug wire on #3 is ok. Check its connection at the plug, and at the coil. you could have gotten some crap on the coil stopping a good transfer of electricty.
Also, if you dont know what your putting in or why your putting it in... dont use unsupported products. The best plug for a stock GM is the AC Delco line of products. I might be wrong with ecotecs, but generally thats the truth. Only use quality replacemnt parts. like AC Delco Plugs and Wires.

There's no wires on the EcoTec. The plugs are under the coil pack between the cams. You proabably knocked the harness around when you changed the oil. Check the connections on the injectors (specifically #3), and check all the other stuff around the oil filter. Something had to come loose. I don't believe in coincidence.

ya i agree it happened because of something.. i thought i dident have coils i no i don't have plug wires because of that cover with rubber hose like material that covers the plug
