I got an 03 and it had like no rust before winter.. now there is quite a bit underneath The rockerpanels at the bottom paint is flaking.. got a big chip on my door. here are some pictures.

You could just sand off the rust cause it doesn't look like its anything major, then just touch up with some primer and paint. Or you could take it to a local shop and have them do the repairs.
try to every week. but very seldom every other week.

splash guards probly would have stopped 99.9% of that.

I wash my car never during winter. Never had any problems. But afterwards she gets the once over with a wash, polish, polycoat and a wax.
