car does nothin when trying to start it.?.?

My car is a 2001 Automatic Chevy Cavalier Z24

Here is the deal, Battery is brand new and works fine.

i had this problem earlier and cleaning the cables and terminals and such seemed to work, but now this trick will not work.

We took the starter out and tested it with jumper cables using my battery thats in the car, and the start was fine, worked perfectly.

we checked the cable going to the starter with a test light and it lit up to show it was getting juice from the battery.

This problem seems to occur whenever it feels like it, it ran for awhile when we thought we fixed it, but the other day i drove my car around back and turned it off, then about 30 mins later i tried to start it to leave and it did absolutely nothing, no click no noise except you hear the fuel pump kick in.

I did get it running after that happened, i jiggled the battery cables and surrounding wires a few times and it started right up.

then two days ago i drive around back again to clean interior, and it wont start now, and al lthe things ive tried previously will not work.

WHAT COULD IT BE????? cuz im stumped lol.

Did you check the Negative Battery cable where it is bolted to the chassis/engine block?

You need to disconnect at the Battery end and then the other points (chassis/block),

make sure the cable ends and the connection points are "shiny" clean before reconnecting.

yea we figured it out, was having problems with the terminals cuz they have the stupid plastic ruber covers on them, which were preventing the negative from getting a flush contact, whomever invented those things needs to die lol. but tis all fixed.
