I posted a while back about this problem i was having, it got a little better after I got a new wheel, but now its getting worse again. Well heres whats goin on..
theres a slight pop when you steer, about every half a turn. I heard it could be the intermediate shaft needing lubed?
Theres a thump thump thump from 20-50mph. Replaced drivers front wheel bearing thinking it was bad, but wasnt. Passenger was replaced in aug 2006, before i bought the car, and the car was doing this it when I bought it, december 2007.
Theres a slight "vibration" in the brake pedal when the car is in park. The car idles fine and doesnt run rough.
Hopefully all these problems will point somewhere.
sounds like more than one problem. have you checked your struts and axles for damage? pop in steering and thumping sounds like a bad CV joint. as far as the vibration, I have no idea.
i had this happen one time, and it was cause one top motor mount bolt had broke, and was putting strain on the other, it started having these issues and eventually the other broke altogether also, so no top motor mounts
when i put new ones in, it was all gucci, A OK, i guess it was putting strain on the axle / joint
The motor mount is new, it still has the dealer inventory sticker on it. I checked the pass axle and there is play in it from side to side (wheel to trans.)
thats a ball joint, get it fixed now
my car actually has the same thing, the shock mount thing is fried. it pops when ever i steer especially when going slow.
I checked the ball joints and theres no movement (used the prybar method per Haynes manual) I did however put it in neutral and turned the wheel and there is a noticeable howl and grinding noise coming from the bearing area. I think im just going to replace both the axle and bearing since i can get shop discount on stuff from advance ($30 for the axle, $30 for the bearing)
