ok well i noticed my tranny was acting up kinda.. it has 200k miles so it was kind expected.. although on closer inspection i notcied the bottom return tranny line off the radiator is just kinda chillin in there..
the threads are some how stripped out completely.. My question is..

When you buy a new radiator does it come with the metal coupling things that go into the radiator.. ?? Its kind of hard to explain there is a metal threw in the radiator.. and THEN a couple that goes into that.. and THEN the tranny line into the coupler thing. Ill buy a new radiator if it comes with that.. I bought this one on ebay about a year and a half ago and i forgot if it came with them.. but im thinking it does

I bought a radiator for my cougar from advance and it did.

A new rad will have the threaded fitting in the rad, but it will NOT have the fittings on the end of the tranny line.

well lets hope it does cuz i need that piece bad =[

where would i find teh fittings that go into the rad. and connect the tranny line ??? anyone have any ideas?

Gm dealer would be pretty pricey, My second guess would be youre local wrecking yard good luck.

If I'm reading your question right, the (2) tranny lines are metal and they have the compression fittings at the end. Those fittings screw in to the radiator. One of yours is damaged and you need a new one.

From what I remember, these fitting are the same style as a brake line. So, you can just use a tube cutter to cut the line cleanly (close to the end as possible.) Take the stripped fitting off and slip on a new one (auto parts store; bring in your old one for the exact match.) From there, you should be able to re-flare the tranny line the same way you would a brake line.

OR

You can just screw a "nipple" into the radiator with a male connector on the other end. Connect that nipple to your tranny line (after you cut off the flare and fittling off) with a rubber line and hose clamps and you're all set. It's a low pressure line so a rubber hose works fine.
