Lean but a/f says not...

My 99 sunfire with the 2200 in runs like clear SH!T. Since last summer it has done and is getting worse.. I had no check engine light till i had my exhuast done and it was because i have no cat which is what the code was for. But ran like crap before that. I've done fuel filter, plugs, wires, tranny filter/fluid, cleaned the throttle body, checked for vaccum leaks. When you smash it open it will spin the tires from a stop about once with traction control off fall on its face and pick back up but has no power. It takes me about a mile doing 65 70 to get to a 100. And i can't even get it to hit the speed limiter period no matter how long the straight is unless down hill. I hooked my wideband controller up to it since i decided to change the o2 sensor and see if it was going pig rich. Well a/f seem fine but when i first start it up sometimes you got to crank it about 5 times (thought was fuel pump) before it would start and it stutter its way up and you could smell gas real bad. and the a/f mixture would go as rich as 11.5 to 12.1 under full throttle at 4k and up. So i decided to change the wires and plugs well when i pulled the plugs everyone of them is white and a bright yellow which i gather has lean but how can that be when you smell gas all the time when it won't start, and my a/f mixture is that rich?? I also scanned the codes yesterday to see if the was anymore and i came up with lean on bank1 which was from my o2 being melted in a bananna shape. I cleared it and no check engine light for 60miles so far but still run like crap. i have also noticed if you give it half throttle it seems to run better than to the floor and it takes for ever for iit to get to 6k from 4k below that is fine. Can someone please give me some insight... thanks

ok take it easy i was try to say everything at once. The car runs like crap has no power under full throttle. It acts like it don't want to tach up (real bad past 4k) like not getting enough fuel or air. I thought it was the fuel pump until i hooked my wideband controller up to. I hooked it up becaue the stock o2 sensor looke like it had got hot and wasn't straight like it should have been. According to my gauge my a/f is dead on at idle and under full thottle i've seen as rich as 12.1 and lil richer a few times. My check engine light has been on since i got rid of the cat in. I tried the sparkplug savers on it and i thought they didn't work cuz the light came back on like ussual. So i had a buddy pull up the codes since i wasn't sure if there was another one it or not. There was only one which was bank 1 o2 lean according to him. I figured it was the old o2 since i never unplugged the computer after i installed the wb one. So we erased it and i've put 60 miles on it and no check engine light yet. Keep in mind it ran like crap before the light came on for the exhuast. The light would come on and off before that also and just stopped coming on for awhile. So today i thought i would change the plugs and wires in hope for a lil improvement when i did the old plugs were white and bright yellow which i thought was lean. So my 2 ?'z what could cause it to run like it is because it is getting worse and how can my plugs show lean but my o2 gauges says its fine? I've did a fuel fitler, plugs, wires and air filter. I'm going to check the fuel pressure tomarrow and try to test some of the sensors. Is that better by any chance?

My guess would be if youre smelling fuel check youre Fuel pressure regulator. I think thats the problem.

Good Luck,
