got the clutch changed at a shop and now once the car gets warmed up I physically have to force it into gear. I'm thinking that they didn't use the GM syncromesh(97-2.4) needed for my car and it's acting up because of it. I chaged fluid once long in the past and used generic fluid and it acted close to this until I put in the syncromesh. Only other possibility I can think of is that the clutch lets out really close to the floor so mabye when I engage the clutch down to the floor, it may not really be releasing all the way and thus making it difficult to shift. Any way of raising it myself? I figure the engagment point will raise on the pedal once I put some more miles on her. I have about 250miles on it now....
Let me know what you think. I'm kinda confused and need to drive my car without getting a workout by forcing gears....
You need to re bleed the system. The TOB was not fully blead, they probably bled it once after replacing the clutch and never went back to it.

Yea, I was right there when they pulled it out the shop. They put the fluid in, bleed it once, drove it around the block and then gave it to me... Unfortunetly I don't know much about clutches but am still very mechanically inclined, so would you mind giving me a quick rundown on how to easily and properly bleed the the clutch>?
Thank you ....
It's pretty much the same as bleeding brakes...... you just have to be a little quicker opening and closing the bleed valve.
Also.... just to let you know.... your tranny would shift fine even if you had 80w90 GL5 gear oil in there... (I know from experience)
I have a 2005 sunfire 2.2 eco I used prestone dot 3 fluid for my clutch bleed. Is that oK? WTF is synchromesh? A type of fluid?
Well, I was wondering how I popped back up on the list....
DOT3 is what your suppose to use. synchromesh is the type of tranny fluid that my (2.4 5-sped) tranny uses. I don't know if the same applies to you though...
to bleed the clutch you will have to look for the bleeder valve that is on the throw out bearing, if you look down between the battery tray and the tranny, you will see a tube that goes into the top- front of the tranny, there should be a black peice on that line, the bleeder valve is right next to it, you will need someone in the car pressing and releasing the clutch and a very small wrench i think it like a 6mm but get some one to pump the clutch, then open the valve it should squirt some fluid out pretty fast, and make sure to keep the clutch fluid in the eresevior up to a good level, it would suck to have to bleed it all over again because u sucked air through the resevior, and dot-3 brake fluid works just fine, im using it now, it actually made the pedal a little easier,
if it can't win a race it better win a show
