How can I pull the codes from a 04 cavalier? I know in the olden days you could bypass the plug under the dash with a paper clip. Can you do anything like this?
No. need a ODB II code reader. You can go to Autozone and they will read the codes for free.

well you are going to need some sort of scanner.
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
just order one from ebay they are like 20$ for the el cheapo ones definilty worth it when you go the dealer they charge you like 40$ just once.
