I drive a 2001 Z24 the motor has been going out for quite sometime last night a friend of mine rolled the window down and it wont go back up can i do it manually or will i have to take it in to get fixed????? thanks guys
well, to be honest this happened to me...i took off the inside door panel...
and i realized i couldnt move the motor or slides up to keep the window closed...
the best bet is just to fix the motor for the window, you can do it yourself but your gonna need a tool to get those steel rivets on and off...
other than that it will be an easy inexpensive thing to do...
but the tool is kinda expensive (depending whether you get a manual tool or automatic)
whats the tool called???? i have no experience doing this so i kinda need some help thanks
both my driver front and rear went out on my Z24, I took off the panel and there are 2 bolts holding the glass to a plastic piece on the window bar. I took my off the 2 plastic pieces and ended up making some wooden dowels to keep it help up. This held for a bout 6 months till i got a new motor for it. so if you just "need" it up, then that will hold you over for the time being.
I'm pretty sure you can just drill out the rivets, and replace them with bolts. Just make sure you don't buy bolts that are too long and are he correct diameter. I've changed many windows in other cars, just not cav's and fire's.
