Horn beep/siren

Ok so about 2months back i was driving home from work and there was a fairly large pot hole in the road which i didn't see, it didn't cause any damage but i noticed my check engine light flash on and then off. So about 30seconds later up the road i hear what sounds like the horn being held on for roughly 3-5 seconds. It stopped and i was kind of confused but when i got home i had a missed call on my cell phone so figured maybe it was interference with the stereo. Anyway my mum just borrowed my car to pick my little brother up from school and she just told me that on the way back they went over a bump and heard the same sound. Now i can't really see why the car would randomly blow the horn. The sound sounds just like the horn is being held on for a few seconds. then it goes away. I have only had this happen twice in two months but i never had any problems before. Just for the record both times this has happened has been on quite large potholes at about 30-40kmh. I usually avoid them but this was inevitable lol.

I don't know if this would be anything to do with it but the passenger side air bag plastic cover is loose at the front, the air bag is in there and not deployed so i figured it wouldn't be a problem as it is only slightly loose at the front and just looks as if it needs sticking back down, but i thought i would mention this too just incase.

thanks in advance, i will be quite interested to hear your opinions on what it could be because it has confused me.

maybe the car was wrecked before you bought it.
The horn is located on the front bumper to the right-- Maybe they did not fix the car properly after hitting a tree? or whatever they hit.
next question would be: for how long have you had this car? was the air bag popping out of place?
Anyway if the horn going off, check the wires.
remove the passenger side bumper fender and the horn is located some where up there close to the computer.
hope that helps!

Ok thanks man. As far as i know there has been no accidents to the front of the car. From what i can see there may have been a collision on the side of the car on the rear fender as they didn't do the best respray job but the repair was very good. I will check the papers im assuming it would be noted on there?

I will check the horn tomorrow.
I have had the car for about 5 months
Thats what i was thinking, if the cover isn't sealed down properly would the air bag move around, and what sort of problems could this cause?
