for some reason my keyless entry (keychain doorlocks and such) always seems to be on the fritz....
some days it works great, some days it doesnt work at all.... some days it randomly picks how it wants to work by the minute.
my range is never very good.... sometimes i have to stand NEXT to the car and pound on the button repeatedly until something happens.
I thought it was a bad remote... so i tried my spare... same thing.... thought it was maybe bad batteries in the remote... changed them, range increased a tad, but it is still always hit or miss.
some days it works great, and somedays i just am forced to use the key.
I was hoping that there was maybe a reciever or sensor in the car that i could check or clean or replace or something... I dont think it is the remotes anymore.... unless both of mine went bad (one i use all the time... the other sat in a drawer for 99% of its life)
so where would i look to start inspecting the car-side of this system? where are the components in the cavy?
my poor baby is sick... someone help me...

hi, i am new here and this is my first post... but i got a cavalier for like 11 years now... anyway...
well i beleive since you changed ur battery and stuff u should re-program the remote, to do that do the following:
get near your car, press the two buttons together at the same time (lock and unlock) and keep pressing them untill u hear the doors shut and open "click click"... thats it... i think this should do it...
um i stood there pressing both buttons at the same time for a good minute straight.... it didnt do a darn thing...
may cavy isnt 11 years old.... is it possible that this only works on the older ones and the newer cars have a different programing method?
