quick question
Sunday, January 13, 2008 4:35 PM
ok i took my car to the dealership to get fixed because the headlight wasnt getting full power on the drivers side. meaning when i had my lights on only the passenger was on the drivers side was putting out less light than the daytime running lamps do. when i got it fixed at the dealership they said it was the ground and power on the drivers side that didnt have a good connection. well now its doing it again. i am just wanting to know if anyone knows where the ground and power wires are on the drivers side. i have a 100 dect. on my extended warrenty and dont wanna pay another 100 bucks to fix two wires. thanks in advance

oh and its for an 05 cavalier

this is usually caused by a coroded plug or a bad ground and all the dealer will do is clean the old one and maby tighten the ground the power wire goes to the fuse pannel either in the cabin or under the hood.

I am not quite shure where the ground goes but usually i un do it completly and sand the metal with light sandparer and put some dielectric grease on the connection in hopes that it will create a better electrical connection..

well i work at a dealership and i know all our work is guaranteed for 12,000 miles or 12 months. So check if ur dealership has some type of warranty on the work they do and take it back to them!!! cuz if the fixed it right the first time i would not be doing it again.

thanks for the quick responses. i will go see if i can figure out where the wire goes for power to the fuse box. i can always splice it and run it to a remote switch but i really dont want to do that. i know i can take it back to the dealership and have them fix it again but i was seeing if this was something easy i could do real quick. cuz the only problem with taking it back to the dealership is that i have to drop it off and it wont be till the end of the day for me to go pick it back up and with me working and the hours there open it doesnt really work out great. i had to get a rental car just to drop it off last time
