I have had issues with my 05 cavalier. I was in an accident ever sence then its vibrated on the highway at 65 and above. I had issues i had the car repaired at the dealer every time i went back they would tighten something then it would be good untill i would jam on the brakes say some on cut me off in slow traffic. Then i would hear big " pop" sound and it woudl vibrate and be sloppy on the highway. They would tighten something send me on my way. They refused to explain what exactly they did i went in probley 8-10 times. I called 1 800 chevy number they sounded concerned then they called the dealer then their tone changed and they told me it was fine. I took it back in same story the guy said it was fine thighten what ever it was and sent me on my way. Then my warrtry expired and the replaced strut mounts i belive. Its better then it was but its still not right. Any ideas its making me so pissed. I go on trips alot were the speed limit is 70 and drivign 70 is scary because it all shalky. I had the tires rebalanced and algment. What sould i do?

as far as im concerned a real alignment job. (all component parts checked) and tires balanced good should take care of any problems of vibration.
im willing to bet there is a rim bent and they piled on weights instead of replacing the rim. find the one that got the most impact and have someone rebalance it.. it prob only cost 5$ if you take it off yourself.
check the wheel bearing i had the same problem. i replaced mine and now its fine
I originally thought the same as above, i had a wheel bearing problem too and got vibration at highway speeds and it stopped after replacement. But when you say there is a 'pop' sound it makes me think something else could be the problem. I also had just had new winter tires fitted which also seemed to fix some vibration.
Anyway i would reccomend checking the wheel bearing, maybe even the front and rear suspension. Tire rotation, wheel balance and alignment would be my next suggestion.
Also the mechanics who temporarily fixed it should tell you what they have done, they should have to tell you if you ask because it could be your safety in danger and im sure they don't want to be held responsible if anything happened or if it turned out to be a big problem.
But thats just my 0.02.

where was the car hit? could be a damaged suspension part. id be very concerned if they weren't telling me what they keep they tightening.

this is just bad service. the second they refused to tell me what they did to my car i would be on the dealer phone calling GM.
they "could" be hiding something serious that would make the car unsafe to drive. it sounds like they are trying hard to keep you from finding out. take it to another GM dealer ASAP and have them check it out. if there is something seriously wrong take it back to the first dealer and tell them what you found out, id bet they will be quick to fix it when they know another dealer discovered what was going on. if that doesnt work the GM 1-800 number should.

the second time they said they "tightened" something i would have told them, that if this keeps popping out when i slam on my brakes, something is definately broken, and not loose. take it back to them...and if they say something is broken, throw a fit. because they waited til your warranty expired to actually fix the problem, instead of adjust it. can you say........lawsuit? BTW is there any records of you going to the stealership any of the 8 times?
