I have a 1995 z24 cavalier and recently it started not starting i would slam the door and it would start. why i dont know but it worked so this morning when i went to go to work my car just would not start at all i turn the key and nothing i checked the fuses and the battery both are good please help....
sounds like a battery problem to me....
maybe a loose or corroded connection @ battery/starter
i checked all connections and the battery is fine load tested it and everything i think the solenoid might be stuck possibly? Idono but eventually after a while it will start usually after i slam the door?

Have you disconnected the Negative cable at it's grounding points on the block/chassis and cleaned the connection points on cables and chassis/block. Looking at the connection won't do, it has to be removed and cleaned.

Ya.. it sounds like a ground cable problem or something.
I found the problem and it turned out it was the socket where the starter/ignition relay plugs in it had become slightly pulled away and was not making contact do to the fact that the clip that held the relay into the socket had broken. So until i can aquire a new socket i simply sinched it up tight with some zip ties so for future notice on that check the conection of the relay as well as the relay it self. Thanks for yur help and input.
