AC ? issue....
Wednesday, November 28, 2007 8:44 PM
its a jingling /bearing sounding /chime... unaltered by RPM, and it USED to go away when i turned on my A/C... tonight, it was the loudest it has been, it didnt go away with AC and it was just AWEFUL.
my two low blower speeds didnt work (without a/c) but they did work with the a/c - hot and cold
my a/c is also VERY LOUD at high speeds. much louder than usual

please help me out... it sounds like my car is rolling around on steel wheels without tires....

i think removing the a/c is the way to go... idk though. im so tired of dealing with the problems im having.

i would say either your AC compressor is going (if noise is coming from under the hood) or your blower motor is going (if noise is coming from under glove box)

both are true.... lol

the blower is only at speeds 3 and 4
it doesnt work on 1 and 2

and the a/c is just a loud ringing type noise, i used to be able to stop it, by using the a/c but it didnt help at all tonight

and the hot air is REALLY HOT! almost like burning (not actually burning) smell... and its really hot. much hotter than normal.

Yea sounds like your compressor clutch is shot, and if your blower only works in 3 & 4, you need a new blower motor resistor.

cake stuff.

thats always good to hear.

im going to stop by meineke(sp) today, because im going to have them look at those issues, and the leaking valve cver gasket. its way to cold for me to do any of this work by myself. and i noticed some oil on the driveway today under where the battery is... any thoughts?
