Alrighty, here's the story:
Last year Christmas time, I made a post where my headlights kept shutting off. Conclusion: bad headlight switch.
Some procrastinating happened, and while I was in AZ for Thanksgiving, I let my brother borrow the car. I forgot to tell him not to mess with the high beams. They worked, but when you pull the switch back sometimes the low beams wouldn't work and you would have to shake the handle.
He comes back and tells me that my high beams weren't working. I just think to myself "oh crap". So I go outside to check out the switch.
I turn the headlights on, and all I get are parking lights. The high beam indicator on the cluster kept blinking, not the DRL indicator. So I kept pulling and jiggling the handle, and nothing would change. I could get low beams to turn on when I slightly pulled the handle, but high beams would never came on. They worked just fine before the trip (high beams).
i make a trip to Vato-Zone (autozone) and buy a new switch. Replace in 5 mins, and viola! low beams worked perfect. I pull the handle, click click, high beam indicator comes on, but the headlights/foglights shut off completely. Pull again, click click, lows + fogs come on, high beam indicator shut off.
I checked the fuses, and none of them are blown... I just have no high beams now. The indicator comes on, saying that they should be on, but nada. I tried searching, and the only thing I read was "headlight switch".... but I just replaced it. Any thoughts?
bulb are fine man... switched to a different set of bulbs, no high beams still
I'm gonna resurrect this thread:
Replaced the headlight/turn signal switch in Novemeber 2007. No high beams working.
Replaced Bulbs Nov 2008, no High beams working.
So to this date I still don't have high beams... all fuses are fine, and everything else is in working order. Could it be maybe the BCM or a messed up wire somewhere?
